Responsible for the initial formation, planning and leadership of Starbucks’ store development department, growing from 19 stores to over 1,500. Responsible for all real estate (expansion strategy, financial and store financial budgets, asset management, strategic alliances), construction and a dotted line to design and legal. Also initiated, negotiated and directed the development of key license and joint venture relationships with partners such as Host Marriott, Barnes & Noble, and major supermarket chains across North America.
